Hello and welcome back, folks!! It’s been pretty exciting week on the “New Home” front lately! I’m loving the kitchen back splash in my kitchen. It looks very similar (almost exactly) to my current kitchen! Why change it if you love it??
The landscapers finished up the final grading and pulled out some of the “LARGE LAWN POTATOES” (rocks) and saved them so we could use them later in the landscaping plan! Late this week the floor guys vacuumed (a huge improvement) the hardwood floors, sanded, and then stained them. Our plan was to leave the floors natural and just have 3 coats of polyurethane BUT we changed our mind at the last minute and stained them “Natural.” I think it brings out the color of the wood grain a little more!
Minnie decided to help with the laundry this week- she was the supervisor!
My parents were very generous and shared some of their garden produce with us, AGAIN! Being such an adventurous soul (NOT) I decided to try a new recipe. Roasted Butternut Squash Soup! It turned out AMAZING!! I even added the garnish of pumpkin seeds! The day I made it, temps were in the low 80’s, but I ate the warm soup anyway! I served it with crackers and dill havarti cheese- major deliciousness!
The dogs and I had a nice walk in the park this week. They love the smells from all the critters that walk through the woods. Well, and they love to find leftover food that kids leave on the ground from soccer practice. They’re naughty dogs, but oh so cute.
In case you wanted to know, the BEST smells at the park are around the fence post holes. Critters like to dig holes and make a home in there. My girls like to sniff and snort, right into their little homes, hoping to stir things up in there.
Little Minnie not only loves the smells, but she also loves the taste of the grass on the OTHER side of the fence. I’m not so sure she’s not a goat!!
That’s it for this week! If you missed my “Perfume”post earlier in the week, you can find it HERE.
Take care, friends, and have a great weekend!!
