I’m sure I’ve shared this before, but we do have two of the cutest dogs ever! Here are Minnie & Honey!

Over the last few weeks, we have spent a considerable amount of money on them with heart worm meds, flea & tick meds, check ups, senior bloodwork, xrays, eye drops and even more extensive blood work with Honey.

BTW, it’s NOT COOL when your dog’s eye look like this…

So…. this leads to my question to talk about.

DO YOU BUY HEALTH INSURANCE FOR YOUR PETS??

I’m thinking that we should be. If you do, what company do you use??

  1. How ironic! I just got off of the phone with 24PetWatch. Bango was on it for wellness and injury for one year. I’m out over $500. I’m also very upset with it. I’m thinking about doing just injury. But, according to their underwriters, a torn ACL is an ILLNESS!!!!! It is not an accident! What? Crazy. So, if I spend $200 on this new plan that drops the plan of wellness, if there’s an ACCIDENT of a torn ACL, they will not help. Bango ate our remote and the back of our couch yesterday. Now our recliner doesn’t work due to the wires and adapter that’s chewed? Why did we get another dog? Anyway, good luck. Be prepared for asking a lot of questions and perhaps disappointment. When I first signed up for pet ins. exactly one year ago. It took me over an hour on the phone to figure out what plan.

    • Oh my goodness, Christen…this was so helpful! If we do invest in it, I will be asking lots of questions!! Sorry about your sofa and remote! Honey is back to being crated when we’re gone due to the same….chewing things. Last week it was a green hard plastic trash can!! It’s so fun to see it later when it comes back up- NOT!!!

  2. I’m glad it was only the trash can. And yes, coming back up is yucka. We have had so much damage to problems with chewing. I’m going to inquire with Healthy Paws Ins. I think that’s what it’s called. I’m beyond upset that underwriters would call a torn ACL and illness. Can’t get passed that. One of my co-workers had a dog that had this injury along with other damage. The vet bill was $6000. I’m happy that I could help you a bit. Insurance is so tricky. Please update when you can.
