Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cup (11.5 oz. package) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, and then gradually add the flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Grease a 9×13 pan and plop (a technical term ) the dough into the pan. Spray waxed paper or parchment with cooking spray and flatten dough out until evenly distributed. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. When cool, cut into squares and store in an airtight container.
