Surprise, surprise, the weather got nice and hubby agreed that we should take down the Christmas mantel!! Unlike most husbands who don’t care about decor, my hubby likes to shop for and be involved in decorating the house! This is a WIN for me because decorating is NOT my thing. Oh, I’m a good copier if I see something I like but I can’t seem to generate any creativity on my own.
Let me tell you that this mantel cost us a whole $9.99 to decorate (found the wreath on clearance at Pier One.) We shopped our basement and around the house to reuse items to make the mantel feel “Springy!” You might recognize the basic skeleton pieces from Fall and Christmas. (Candles, Metal/Wood Wall Decor and add accessories!) Loving that it’s simple and easy to dust too!
Here are a few close ups of the mantel. Check out this little birdie… He used to sit on our dining room table as part of the tablescape. It became a joke in our family that if you left the table during a family dinner, you would come back to the BIRD, turned and staring right at you!! I guess that’s why he makes me happy- he’s been the subject of many fun memories!
Here are a few more close ups!!

The finished product…
Maybe next season I will get a little more creative, but for now- I like it!
Now, who is going to come over in a few months and help me with my Summer mantel??
