A few months ago, we had the opportunity for our Grandson to come over and stay overnight. It was SO FUN!! We picked him up from his house and made sure to say hi to his little brother, too!! It was hard not to grab him and take him to our house, too!! I don’t think he was ready to leave his Mommy and Daddy just yet!
As soon as we arrived home, Grandpa had ALL OF THE TOYS out to play with! Little Buddy is sure into matchbox cars and trucks!! Construction equipment in particular!!
This time we brought out something new that he had never seen- BEANIE BABIES!! He enjoyed looking at all of the different animals and placing them in just the right place in our living room!! (Like riding the reindeer- below.)
We might have slightly catered to his dinner preferences by having hot dogs, pasta and green beans from the garden!! Dinner was a success!
The rest of the evening was ALL ABOUT PLAYING!! He explored Gma’s basement and we played pool the little buddy way. He also found Gma’s TOY CLOSET. The vacuuming was done too, don’t you worry!!
As the night went on I could tell it was time to get jammies on and have a snack. Laying on the floor playing with cars was definitely a sign that bedtime was imminent.
He did have a snack…I wish you could have watched him eat this apple. He would take a bite, turn the apple and then find the exact place to take the next bite. It made me smile! Gpa helped with getting Jammies on and picking out a book to read.
We made a nest right next to our bed for him. He was just the cutest, sitting on his little bed reading construction books. At one point, I looked over and he was sitting in the corner, to the right of the night stand. 😂
Ladies and Gentlemen….may I introduce Sheepie. I won’t mention that Gma and Gpa forgot to pack sheepie in his bag before he left, so we made a trip back to their house that day to deliver sheepie back home!! Whew!
It was a super quiet night, and wake up time was pretty decent….6:39 am!!
Breakfast was another request from Little Buddy……cereal. Gpa picked out Apple Jacks at the store, and he seemed REALLY happy about that choice! He also told us all about the colors that were in his cereal.
AND…..it was back to playing with ALL the toys. We added the loving family house to the mix and also the Farming set! Never a dull moment here!! Getting dressed for the day was a little bit of a struggle to pull him away from the toys for a moment!!
Oh, and I might have taught him a really bad habit to get all of the sugary milk….OOPS!!
To end the time, Gpa took Little Buddy on an “ADVENTURE” (those were his words) through our yard. They explored the yard, went on the walking trail behind our house and played with Honey, our dog. I was a naughty Gma and made him sit still for ONE picture on the porch by the mum. You can tell he was thrilled. Hehe!!
It was such a fun overnight, but oh, boy were we tired! Kudos to parents out there that have so much energy! Gma and Gpa had a nap for sure that afternoon!! So thankful for the precious time with the littles in our life!!
That was delightful. The photos tell a wonderful story of a sweet little boy that is blessed with wonderful Grandparents and a world to explore together. The new toys must have been like Christmas many times over. I loved his little bed. He must have felt so very secure. Thanks for all of the photos and for sharing some precious moments with us all. Your stories are always entertaining and enlightening.
Aw, thanks!!! Love watching the “grands” grow up!!
