I am so blessed to have friends and family who have wonderful recipes!! The best part is…they SHARE their recipes with me! One of the reasons I started this blog is to be able to share MY recipes with others, so—here we go! This recipe came from my Mom’s parents, Dorothy and Lloyd Crone….and it’s delicious, but even better, it’s EASY!! This recipe is so easy that even an 11 year old can make it….so she did!!
Here are the ingredients…….(for the full recipe, scroll down)
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees….
Next, grab your cooking spray…
Spray the 9×13 pan…
Open the cans of peaches and pour them, juice and all, into your pan…
We like to cut the peaches into bite sized pieces, but it’s not necessary.
Open the cake mix and drizzle it over the peaches…
At this point, open the bag of pecan pieces…..and pour 1/2 cup on top of the cake mix…..um, Anna??
Yeah… as I was saying, pour them on top of the cake. Nuts are optional, but it makes it so much better! In this case, we were going to a friend’s house for dinner and we didn’t know if they liked nuts, so we only used nuts on half.
Melt your stick of butter in the microwave and then pour it over the entire dessert.
Put the uncovered dessert in the oven…
Set your timer for 50 minutes…
After 50 minutes have passed, remove from oven and let cool. We served our Peach Thing with Redi-whip, but I’m sure vanilla ice cream would be even better!! Enjoy!!
Peach Thing
2 (1 pound) cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup (chop slightly)
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 stick, butter (melted)
Preheat oven to 350. Pour the peaches and juice into a greased 9×13 pan. Sprinkle with the dry cake mix, add nuts and drizzle melted butter over the top. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes. Cool and serve with Redi-whip or ice cream.
Thanks for posting this, Jill. Excellent job, Miss Anna!
