Welcome back!! Sorry for not posting last week….that’s life, I guess- thanks for the grace!! Anyway, I haven’t done a random post on life lately, so join me as I show ya what we’ve been up to!!
Because I’m a morning person (you can hate me if you want!) I’ve been enjoying the quiet and colors of the sunrise. I just happened to look out one morning and saw this beautiful art work in the sky! The jet patterns certainly did add to the uniqueness…
We have a vegetable farm not too far from our house and I hadn’t been there since last year. A friend invited me to ride along with her and I couldn’t imagine what kind of garden veggies they would have in stock! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked through the doors! Did I tell you how good their carrots are?? YUM-O! Check out the brussel sprout trees? I’ve never made brussel sprouts but they were so cute I wanted to try them!!!
Since having arthroscopic knee surgery a few weeks ago, I’ve been hanging out twice weekly with my favorite PT gal! We talk recipes and kids while she tortures me – talking makes things better! Our latest conversation was about the new “Cat Snuggie” that is available for purchase ! I even enjoyed a nice incision massage and then got hooked up to the ice machine! I good excuse to lay down and relax for 15 minutes!! I will be dismissed from PT tomorrow…with full range of motion and strength back! Happy, Happy!!
This week has been especially hard because we had to take our dog, Bella, to the Emergency Vet early in the week. I’ve known for a few weeks that she hasn’t felt good, and I’ve had her at our regular vet twice to try to figure it out. Long story short- she was bleeding internally and didn’t know what was causing the bleeding. The dr’s recommended exploratory surgery to find the cause. Suspecting cancer, it was a pretty rough night at our house..lots of tears and just missing her being at home. She was scheduled for surgery that night or the next morning depending on her blood work. The called the next morning explaining that they didn’t know why or have an explanation why, but all of the blood in her belly was gone, and she was no longer a candidate for surgery.
I have no idea what happened to the blood or why she didn’t keep bleeding, but we got to bring our sweet girl home that same day! We’re now watching her very closely and monitoring bloodwork to make sure she’s not bleeding again. I’m just so thankful that we’re given more days with her! We have such a special bond because we’ve worked together as a therapy dog team and we can read each other. I love her so much!
We had to go back for more blood work today and I was so afraid that she would be nervous about going back to the ER Vet. As you can see, in typical Labrador style…she was SO NERVOUS!! (Yes, they had to shave her belly and side for an ultrasound!)
Terribly Frightened!!! Silly Bella!!
While all this dog stuff was all going on, my daughter called one morning on the way to school and said that someone had rear ended her. UGH! Thank the Lord that no one was hurt and her car had 1 tiny scratch- we did have to have it towed due to the fact that it wouldn’t start up after the accident. Weird, huh?? It’s been an interesting few weeks around here!
On a happy note, it’s my hubby’s birthday today and he wants to spend a quiet evening at home…with us and the dogs! Can’t get much better than that! Well, except for his favorite meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes too!!!
See you next week…I have an interesting decorating project going and I just might need your opinions and help!!
Of course, I loved it all. And of course, I had a few tears. We love Bella, too. She is a most unusual dog. So smart, so lovable, and so faithful. Glad your girlie didn’t have any injuries and that the car is on the go again. And the veggie pics make me want to make a trip to the veggie place. I know that I would be buying things that I really don’t need. Happy Birthday to your wonderful man! Glad he got his mashed potatoes and meatloaf! Woo Hoo!
Wow Jill! Crazy times for you. They say, when it rains, it pours! We have had similar times where you just ask yourself, what next? But somehow we get thru it all with love, support and family & friends. Let me know if you need any help with anything.
Thank you, Luanne!!
Bella! Sending multitudes of hugs! Wow, Jill, you sure have had an eventful period. I am so glad things are turning around. Much to be thankful for at Thanksgiving. ? Congrats on completing PT.
We will take the hugs!!! Yes, much to be thankful for at Thanksgiving and all year round!!
