Hi Friends!! I’m linking up with Shay and Erika to share my Christmas Home Tour today!!!
Although some of my family members didn’t want to wait, we waited until the day AFTER Thanksgiving to decorate our house for Christmas! Because I have a hard enough time keeping my house picked up and clean, I chose to do simple decorating this year. I DO love seeing other people’s homes that have spent a week carefully unwrapping every piece of decor and placing it in just the right spot!
Alright, welcome to our home!! If you haven’t followed along for very long, we built our home 3 years ago and designed it to be family and entertaining friendly! We love it!
Let’s start in this part of the living room. You’ll see our sofa table filled with all things Christmas!! My hubby LOVES the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,”so you can see the book displayed right along side the basket that houses our Christmas cards. Did you notice that the basket is missing a leather handle?? #puppyproblems
Right below the tv is a picture, circa 2001, of our QUAD SQUAD. What a year it was… 3 handsome boys and then along came their sister that year!!
One of the most memorable gifts I have ever gotten was when our kids recreated some of the pictures that we had taken when they were little. I should really show you the pictures! It was so funny…and touching…and awkward!
Let’s zoom around to the fireplace. We changed things up this year- I was tired of the same mantel set up year after year. Hubby and I went to Hobby Lobby and Pier One to find the items for the mantel. I love that he has an opinion about decorating…sometimes!
By the way, the lanterns have L.E.D. twinkle lights inside them that I turn on at night. It’s gives off such a nice glow.
After checking out the mantel, just whirl around and you can get a glimpse of our kitchen- my favorite room in the house!!
You can see Mr. Snowman on top of the tree… He overlooks everything and keeps everyone in line in the house!! I heard in church this weekend that most Christmas trees have either a star on top or an angel. OOOPS!
**Notice my favorite blanket from Kohls that has migrated from the basement to the couch upstairs!! It’s so warm and cozy for an afternoon nap!
Here’s the simple decor in our kitchen. I eventually want to get some greenery for the cabinet tops and maybe a wreath or big bow for the wooden vent. Maybe next year…
I pieced this “tablescape” together when we had some company over last week. I was determined to use what we had in our decor tubs. It doesn’t look that great now, but with green place mats and crisp white plates, I will be super HAPPY!!
Here’s the view from the other side of the room. Notice the wooden bowl on the island…it’s full of different nuts, picks and nut crackers. This makes me think of my Grandad…so many good memories!
View from the other side… What’s your favorite thing in this picture??
That’s it for today! We don’t typically decorate our bedrooms or go “all out” in the basement. You can count on one thing, though…there WILL be a puzzle going in the sun room over the holidays!!
Thanks for taking the time to read and subscribe!!! See ya later, alligator!!

I love that birch tree picture on the wall in the dining room. Is it a painting?
Hi Debbie!! Yes, it’s a painting from Pier One a few years back. I LOVED the contrast of colors! Thanks for stopping by!!
Your home looks beautiful. I love those tall green trees on your mantle!
