Our baby girl graduated from High School in June. Thankfully, they had an outdoor graduation and it was AMAZING!!
As the Summer progressed, we spent a little time at Bed, Bath & Beyond and ordered waaaayyyy too many things on Amazon in preparation for moving into the dorm the last week of August.
The weekend before we moved her in, we had a little get together with family! She chose the menu and got all of the (unwanted) attention. Grandma & Grandpa even bought her a personalized DQ ice cream cake! By the way, she chose THIS for dinner! Sorry, I didn’t get photos of everyone at the party!!
We moved her in on Thursday, Aug 27th. Because of Covid-19, only 2 of us could accompany her for move in, and we had a scheduled 2 hour window to be in and out of there! Did I mention that the temps were in the low 90’s and humidity was sky high?? We got that window fan going in the room really quick! Also, there was no elevator, so we hoofed it up the flights of stairs- mostly hubby did, but we got her stuff there and then left for lunch. We did help her loft the bed and put the sheets on, but other than that, we left her to organize things the way she wanted!
Here was our GOOD BYE photo….no tears, because I knew she was happy and that she would do great!!
She text me some pictures the next day. I think it looks great, and I’m super thankful that she has a great roommate!!
She was so sweet and sent me some first day of school photos!!!
With her roommate…
and with her high school friend…
Unfortunately, there aren’t a ton of things to do on campus right now because of social distancing, but they have managed to visit the town farmer’s market.
They are definitely fans of outdoor YOGA!
It might not look like the college experience that I had, but I know she’ll make the best of it!!
Loved that you shared this special day with photos, etc. Love seeing the room all decorated. Looks very nice. I hope that they can continue their classes and I sure wish it was under different circumstances, but hope that they can get in at least a semester and hopefully, two! Good Luck, Miss Anna! And have fun!
Wish I would have taken a before pic of the room….oh well!! They sure have made it “homey.”
Empty Nest! Enjoy!!!
Yes, we’ll try!!!
