Hello friends!! Last weekend I did a poll on my Facebook page to see what type of post you wanted to see….a recipe or an organizing post. Well, the astounding winner was ORGANIZING!!
Now that the kids are back to school, I thought it would be a good time to get the Summer funk and junk out of the refrigerator! I can’t even remember the last time I cleaned it out- thoroughly!
How can my fridge be full and there not be anything to eat??
First, I started with one shelf, and unloaded it on my island. Why just one shelf? There’s always a distraction that might cause me to leave the kitchen for awhile and I don’t want the food to go bad!
Make sure to check expiration dates ! I found quite a few things that were expired!
Clean any spill that is on the shelf…this one was tough to get off!!
I got my microfiber cloth wet and just soaked it for a minute and then scrubbed it off!
I did the same with the drawers…here’s my cheese drawer. I didn’t bother with taking it out and soaking it in the sink- I just wiped it out! I keep chanting…Progress, not Perfection!!
Ummmmm….yeah. OOOPS
I did the same with the door storage. I knew I would have a few things that were outdated.
This was the part that I dreaded the most- emptying and washing out the jars and containers that were recyclable.
Well, here’s the final product. It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than it was!!
Make sure you write down the items that were expired so you can repurchase them at the grocery store! You don’t EVER want to be without ketchup (at least at our house!!) I needed to replace sweet and sour sauce, tartar sauce, yellow mustard and horseradish sauce.
Say CHEEEEESE!!! I can see what I have now!! =)
The last thing I did was to give the outside a quick wipe down! Just used my microfiber cloth and water!
Well, there ya go! I’m feeling really good about my fridge! By the way, I didn’t have a chance to get to the freezer portion. I’ll leave that for another day!
Feel free to leave any blog post ideas in the comments at any time! I LOVE COMMENTS!!!

I like that, progress not perfection! 🙂
Me too, Donna! Progress is attainable, perfection is not! Thanks for stopping by!!
Looks great. I am particulary impressed with the way your stainless steel is so shiny!
It makes the whole kitchen look better!!!
