We love this weekend and look forward to it SO MUCH!! BASS CASTER WEEKEND!! The long weekend runs Thursday through Sunday of Father’s Day weekend, and it’s a boatload of fun!!
Our kids and grandkiddos come up when they can, and we spend the weekend together at the Lake. FISHING is the focus, and prizes are given out for First fish caught, First Bass caught, Most fish and BIGGEST Bass caught! Let’s just say that the family likes to arrive early and leave late this weekend!!
The long weekend started out really well for this family! They got to the lake around noon on Thursday and hit the fishing right away! It was mighty successful, I will add!!
The BEST story from the weekend was that our 4 year old grandson got to use a lure on his kid fishing pole for the first time. He ended up catching a HUGE Northern Pike on it and was scared to death when he saw the fish in the net and took off running!! It was so fun to be there when he caught it!!
I can’t remember all of the details from each day because they were so full, but here’s the gist of the weekend!
We were fishing a LOT! In the boat, but mostly off the dock!
Those who weren’t interested in fishing got Grandma Jilly kisses…
The water table was a big hit!! Even the dog got involved!
These two were here, but didn’t get a picture of them wrangling fish!!
A little video gaming
Playing outside
Favorite Aunt Carrie was an artist for the kids, and that spurred them to color and draw.
Some took the morning to visit Cabelas and see the sights!
By the way, Maisy says HI (with a yogurt face!)
We had the best food this weekend! Every family took a turn cooking dinner (or lunch). We had BBQ pork sandwiches, tacos, potato skillet and baked sandwiches.
Little Sawyer had pizza for lunch one day- he’s an eater!!
Sunday was Father’s Day, and we celebrated all of the Dads in the family!
(Son, Son, Husband, Son, and Daddio)
The expert GRILLMASTER grilled some chicken thighs for our big meal! He had plenty of supervisors!
The meal consisted of grilled chicken thighs, macaroni corn casserole, sautéed green beans and cantaloupe. Everything was gone except for 1 chicken thigh and a little cantaloupe!! I guess you could say they enjoyed it!!
UH-OH…
The best fishing spot is right off our dock!!
So thankful for a long weekend with our family! When I looked at the weather forecast at the beginning of the week, it said we would have rain every day. Thank you, Lord, that we didn’t feel or see a drop of rain the whole time!! What great memories we made!!
