It’s Spring here in Wisconsin, but it just doesn’t feel like it. A quick glance outside to see the snow piled up makes me question that darn Punxsutawney Phil . Where is Spring?? Because of the weather, I am still cooking dishes that are a little heavier….because cold temps = comfort food to me!! I wanted to share with you this easy recipe for baked sandwiches, so here goes…
Here are the ingredients that I used…
Start by greasing a 9×13 pan. Split rolls and add the sandwich ingredients (I used turkey and cheese.)
Melt the butter and add the rest of the ingredients for the sauce. Mix well. Pour over sandwiches…
Cover the dish with Aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight …
When you’re ready to bake it, remove from fridge , remove the foil and bake for 20 minutes or until the tops of the buns are brown.
Here’s the final product….These are SO GOOD!!
Here’s the complete recipe…
Baked Sandwiches
1 dozen brown and serve rolls ( I used the King Hawaiian Sweet Rolls)
1/2 to 3/4 pound deli meat
sliced cheese
Sauce: 1/2 cup butter
2 T. brown sugar
1 T. yellow mustard
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
Grease a 9×13 casserole dish. Split sandwiches and make meat and cheese sandwiches. Mix sauce and pour over sandwiches. Cover with foil and refrigerate over night. To bake, remove foil and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until bun tops are brown. Enjoy!!
You have another winner there, Ms. Jillie! They do look wonderful!
I can’t wait to try these!
I did make these as a snack on new years with some friends, they loved them. The only thing different is I also used poppyseeds in the sauce you pour on top.
These are PHENOMENAL!
