I’ve decided to join in with Mel, Sheaffer, and Shay to share what we’ve been up to this fine month of September! Join me as I share, and feel free to wander over to the other ladies sites!!
What we’re eating this week:
Grilled chicken thighs and vegetables
Taco salad, chips and salsa
Turkey brats and cold pasta salad
Subs and chips
BLTs and chips
What I’m reminiscing about:
I ran into a picture the other day that had my heart flutter! My kids had enjoyed a day outside in the yard after church and we caught this fun picture circa 2007!! Oh, my babies….they’re all grown up now!!
What I’m loving:
The weather- today!! We had an unexpectedly cool August- temps in the 60’s and then the last few weeks it’s been in the high 80’s. (I don’t sweat, I sparkle, BTW) Today it is 62 degrees outside and I have the windows WIDE OPEN!!
What we’ve been up to:
Driving, driving, driving!! It’s homecoming week at my daughter’s high school. Between taking/picking her up from school, fun events at night, and the tennis season wrapping up, I’ve been in the car more than I’ve wanted to be!
Also, our oldest son and his wife moved in with us last weekend because they sold their house very quickly and haven’t found their next home yet. We have encouraged them to be patient and make sure they get just what they want in their next home. They will keep looking!! Having them here also solves my problem of not knowing how to cook for only 3 people since two of our sons are married now, and the third one just left for college!! I’m back to making a regular sized amount of food for dinner!! =)
What I’m dreading: After doing a month of P.T. and then a cortisone shot later, my knee pain and clicking has stayed the same, and I’m facing an out-patient surgery to figure out what’s going on. The injury stems from doing laundry- go figure!! I’m certainly dreading the surgery!!!
What I’m working on:
Currently, I’m working on business-y things. I’m reading all I can about Social Media and also learning how to train my team of new Thirty-One consultants! I think the secret to life is to never stop learning!!
What I’m excited about:
THIS. IS. TONIGHT!! Can’t wait to sit down and watch it!! We usually have a tv show that our family watches together, and Survivor is one of them! You can bet my DVR will be set so we can watch it together later!!
What I’m watching/reading:
Currently, I’m reading this book. It’s taking me a while to get through it, but I’m taking in every single morsel that I read.
What I’m listening to:
Apparently, I have a problem with enjoying solitude. Even while getting ready in the mornings, I’m listening to music or a podcast. Lately, my favorite podcast is the Organize 365 podcast.
What I’m wearing:
I’m so happy to hang those summer shirts up and get out the hoodies…my favorite!! Perfect weather and outfit for me is a hoodie and capri pants!! Sorry, just had to include a shameless “hoodie selfie” in my daughter’s closet!!
What I’m doing this weekend:
As I said before, it’s Homecoming week at my daughter’s high school, so much of the weekend is devoted to that- Homecoming Game, Prep for the Dance, The Dance and pick up!! Sunday will be a day of calm, prepping for the week ahead, and hopefully a nap 😉
What I’m looking forward to next month:
I’m obviously excited about the cooler weather! Also, October is also a big birthday month for our family! 4 family members have birthdays in October which gives us yet another excuse to get together and enjoy each other’s company!!
Leaves changing color is on the top of my list of things to look forward to in October! This picture shows the beauty that is around us during the Fall. This church is only a few miles from our house…isn’t it magnificent??
What else is new?:
Hubby motivated me to put up the Fall home decor by bringing up the boxes from the basement (bless his heart.) Together we managed to decorate in less than an hour and it looks great! I especially LOVE the fall pillows!! Apparently, so does our dog!! LOL!!!
That’s it for What’s Up Wednesday!! Have a great week!!
Congratulations. That was an excellent post. Your life is certainly busy, but enjoy it. Time flies by so quickly and you will wonder what just happened. So sorry about the knee. Hoping that it will get better on its own….but I guess that it isn’t happening. Love the Fall pic with the kids and all of your Fall decor. So pretty. The Basillica (SP?) and the trees in all their glory…Oh,my! Beautiful. And do wear aqua more often. It looks so good on you. Skipping subjects here, but a lot to cover. Thanks for all of the wonderful photos and writing about yourself and your family’s activities. Busy! Busy! Busy! Enjoy! Thanks again.
Glad that you enjoyed it, Mom!!!!
