Hello again!! DO YOU know where October went?? I can’t believe it’s the end of the month already!! Today I’m linking up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer to share what I’ve been up to lately!! Here are the questions we will be answering!!
What we’re eating this week:
~Chicken Stir Fry and rolls- Hey, it’s not fast food….but it’s food that’s fast….
Baked Sandwiches and fruit
Chicken Parmesan and salad
Roast, carrots, & potatoes
Chicken Curry Soup and cheese/crackers
What I’m reminiscing about…
We built our new house 3 years ago this month. I will never forget our first morning waking up and seeing all of the beautiful trees out our bedroom window and thinking I was on vacation in the mountains!! (we didn’t have shades or blinds on the windows yet! The view was similar to this…
What I’m loving…
Just look at our burning bushes!! This is our third year being here and this is the prettiest they’ve ever been!! It makes me want to change my favorite color from purple to RED!!
What we’ve been up to…
Well, my sweet girl had her Homecoming dance early in the month…she went with friends.
We had some pumpkin carving fun at my son & daughter in love’s house.
What I’m dreading…
The day that she figures out that she can jump the fence!!!
What I’m working on…
I’ve been working on my business- it’s the busiest time of the year for me!! Thirty-One Gifts has so many fun and festive totes this time of the year!!

What I’m excited about…
Celebrating my Halloween baby who turns 20 today!! He’s at college, but we drove down and took him out for dinner earlier this week!
We also celebrated my other daughter-in-love’s birthday last night!! 25 looks good on her!!
What I’m watching/reading…
Currently, not reading much, but always looking for suggestions (wink.) Don’t think I’m silly, but I’ve never watched the Hallmark channel and this season, I’m HOOKED!! My DVR is full of movies that I’ve recorded and want to see. I watched one last night with my hubby (he’s a saint, I swear) and he just kept looking at me and kinda rolling his eyes…and then smiling. Oh, the things we do for our spouses!
What I’m listening to…
THIS PODCAST!!!
I listen while I’m getting ready in the morning. I listened to the first season and was totally hooked! This show follows a murder case and step by step investigates each person that might be a suspect. During the first season, after digging deeper into the case of missing person,Tara Grinstead, they actually solved the case! New episodes come out every Monday!
What I’m wearing…
I’ve been obsessed the last few years with clothes from Christopher & Banks. I had some “Banks Bucks” to spend last weekend, so I tried on a few outfits. This was the cute shirt and vest I got last Fall. Don’t ya just love dressing room selfies?? Jeans are Lee Riders and shoes are Eastlands from Amazon.
What I’m doing this weekend…
Date Night with the neighbors!! WOO HOO!
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Thanksgiving!!! I am hosting this year and I think we will have all 4 kids and their spouses here overnight Thanksgiving night! They LOVE to go Black Friday shopping together! Oh, how I love it when all birdies are back in the nest- it’s the BEST!!
AND HELLO? My parents made these awesome homemade noodles for our feast! There are 5 batches right here- I think this will get us through Thanksgiving AND Christmas!
What else is new?
Expecting my new dryer to be delivered later this week!! My old one bit the dust a few weeks ago! A big THANKS to my parents and sweet neighbors who have come to the rescue to help!!
BONUS question: What was my all time favorite Halloween costume?
Well, my Mom was a really big help when finding a costume for Halloween in middle school. These 3 years were my favorite costumes! One year I was Charlie Chaplin, the next Cleopatra and then finally a Geisha girl! I tied for first place in the costume category one year!! Thanks, Mom!!
That’s all for today….see you next week!!
Omgoodness! We have several things in common! Purple is my favorite color and I mentioned the zip and Vanished on my blog today, too!! I just discovered it last week and started with season 2, so i’ll Have to go back to season one for sure! I love it! We also have middle school girls!!
Yes, season 1 of Up and Vanished was SO GOOD!!! Go back and listen! Thanks for stopping by!! So glad to have a buddy on Team Purple!!
Oh, my goodness! i loved everything about this. So many beautiful pics. Love your burning bushes. Ours was pretty this year, too, but it is pretty well hidden. Loved seeing your prom girl looking so beautiful, your birthday boy, and your daughter in love on her birthday. Love the view from your window. Every season, it is beautiful. Your food pics always make me hungry and inspire me to “do better”! Too many things to love about this post, but I thank you for it all…And for the costumes, from the past, I had as much or more fun than you did. I’m just a kid at heart. Nice job, love!
