Hi, friends!! Welcome to the first What’s Up, Wednesday of 2020!! I’ll be linking up with Sheaffer & Shay as we share what’s going on in our lives! Here are the questions we will be answering…
What we’re eating this week…
Baked Sandwiches/fruit salad
Honey Soy Baked Chicken Thighs/mac n cheese/steamed carrots
Grandpa’s Sauerkraut and Kielbasa
Big Mac Salad/rolls
Crispy Cheddar Chicken/salad
What I’m reminiscing about…
With another grand baby due in the near future, I’m reminiscing about the birth of my first two grand babies!
What I’m loving…
We’re having a mild winter so far (I may have just jinxed us 😉 ) temperature wise, and we had the most beautiful snow fall the other day! It was like a winter wonderland!!
What we’ve been up to…
Bucks game, spoiling grand babies, middle school basketball games (hubby coaches), College visits, hanging with friends and enjoying college son home on break.
What I’m dreading…
Right now….nothing! =)
What I’m working on…
I have to be honest….I got an Instant Pot for Christmas over a year ago and I’ve been so afraid to use it!! Friends of mine love it and use theirs often! Trying to muster the strength and courage to try it!! SO…..leave me ALL of your best Instant Pot recipes in the comments!!
What I’m excited about…
I’ve been taking Honey, our golden doodle to different dog friendly stores, Cabela’s and Lowe’s, and I’m encouraged that she is well behaved and is losing her fear of strange men with facial hair and hats!! Hooray!!
What I’m watching/reading…
Momma Joyce’s Country Cooking on Facebook!
She shows you how to make all of the good old southern recipes!!
What I’m listening to…
This is Maroon 5 on Spotify
What I’m wearing…
Santa got me these cute tiny Stella & Dot hoop earrings that are reversible! They are simple and delicate!!
What I’m doing this weekend…
It’s birthday celebration season around here! We are celebrating BIG! My Mom is turning a big number that rhymes with Katie!! Now THAT’S a reason to celebrate!!
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Maybe the new grand baby will be born on my birthday!!!?? (Feb. 12th) Wouldn’t that be awesome??
What else is new?
Can’t think of anything!!
Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my blog!! I love sharing my life and it means so much to know that you give your time, a limited resource, to check it out!!
In the coming weeks, you’ll be seeing a guest post from one of my friends!!! SWEET!!
If you get Instant Pot recipes – please share with all of us. 🙂 I, too, have a new Instant Pot still in the box – I need inspiration to get it out & actually try some recipes! I even got a cookbook from my niece with recipes, yet I still haven’t unpacked the instant pot!
Glad to know I’m not the only one that still has one in the box! I will share recipes!! Thanks for reading along, an happy belated birthday!!!
Aw! I love this post. So much information and so many adventures for you all. Looking forward to the new baby, too. We will be so blessed with all of the littles. I am sure that Honey loves getting out and enjoying all of the sites. So glad that you are giving her this experience. She is a very sweet “pup”! The snow we had was truly beautiful. It looked like big globs of powdered sugar had been sifted on the branches. Glad you got some photos. I, too, enjoy Mama Joyce’s videos. And I love my earrings that you gave me. They are so dainty and I love that you can wear them two different ways. All of your photos are wonderful to see and want you to know that I always look forward to seeing what is happening with your busy family!
Thanks for always leaving a sweet comment, Mom!!
You do such a marvelous job with this, Jill. So proud of you and your many talents. Keep up the good work….Love….
With the Instant Pot, for me at least, it was great to start simple and work up from there! There’s a tip online or in the instruction manual to do a water boil for the first time you use it just to get the hang of things and it was SO helpful to just get the nervousness out haha. Then, I moved on to cooking plain chicken that I’d take out and shred after for whatever recipe needed shredded chicken.
That’s a great idea, Lauren! I will try that- start simple!! Thank you so much!!
