Well, hello, my friends!! It’s the last Wednesday of the month, so I’m sharing what I’ve been up to this month!! Of course I’ll be linking up with Sheaffer and Shay! Here are the questions that we will be answering!
What we’re eating this week…
Honey Sesame Chicken, green beans, potatoes
Chicken Fajitas, chips, salsa
BLT’s
Apple Brats, corn on the cob
Burgers, squash
Taco Salad
Parmesan Chicken
What I’m reminiscing about…
We watched some home videos from 2003. The kids were so little! It was a super busy time, but I look back on those days so fondly!
What I’m loving…
All of the garden veggies! Especially the potatoes, green beans & tomatoes!
Made a batch of Salsa, too!!!
What we’ve been up to…
We’ve done quite a bit of work on the storage side of our basement. It was full of furniture that we thought our kids might want, photos and memories, a baby crib and bedding, college apartment kitchen utensils, bikes, etc!! We put a few items up on a local FB buy and sell group and got them out of our basement! It’s looking much better, but it’s still a work in process!!
What I’m dreading…
Moving this girl to college this week, and it’s going to be over 90 degrees, and it’s an un-air conditioned dorm!
What I’m working on…
Losing weight! I’m focusing on food and fueling my body. The good thing is that I can still have a brownie for dessert every night if I want!!
What I’m excited about…
Again, excited for our daughter to move into college life! Even if it’s a little different from my college experience, looking forward to watching her grow, learn and have fun!
What I’m watching/reading…
On tv, I always love watching The Incredible Dr. Pol! Yes, I can take all of the gore and the sadness too! Also, still watching the first season of ALONE on Netflix! It’s another Survivor-like show, only these are survival experts being dropped off in the Arctic Circle! It’s SO GOOD!! I guess you can also find it on the History channel!
Because I’m a Senior Consultant with the company, Thirty-One Gifts, I’ve been so excited to get the Fall catalog and start looking over the new products and prints!! It’s a GREAT new catalog that starts on September 1st!
What I’m listening to…
It seems as though the hawks in our area have come back! I’m hearing a lot of screeching again when sitting on the patio. There was a time, not too long ago, when we had lots of bunnies and chipmunks in our yard. I’m not seeing them as much anymore! Enjoy the beautiful sunset from my patio!!!
What I’m wearing…
A mask….everywhere! I don’t like it, but hey, it saves me money at the grocery store because I just want to get out of there to get that mask off!!
This week I’m wearing “Secret Diary” on my nails…it’s a shellac color by CND. I’m thinking it’s a nice transition color coming into Fall. It also looks good with a tan…which I don’t have!! Haha!!
What I’m doing this weekend…
I’m not sure yet!!
What I’m looking forward to next month…
A little low key Get-Away to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary!
What else is new?
Gosh, we had the nicest little family dinner for our daughter before she goes to college. My parents came and enjoyed the evening, too!! Here are a few pics from the night!!
Wasn’t it just yesterday that I took this photo?? I wonder if her dorm room will be all pink and flowery?
Stay Tuned!!
Enjoy the rest of your week, friends!!!
Ugh; 90 and no air conditioning does not sounds like fun. I hope she has a wonderful college experience however that happens to look this year. We have been seeing a lot more hawks and even a few bald eagles lately!
Thank you so much!! How cool to see bald eagles- OMGee!!
You always make such a good blog. So many bright and beautiful pics. Looking forward to photos of the dorm room and I do hope the fans help! Goodness! It sounds miserable after living in air conditioning all summer. But they are young and I don’t recall suffering from the heat while in college and I know that we didn’t have air conditioning, nor fans! Your dinner for Anna was wonderful. So good to see the two great grandbabies and their Mom and Dad after many months of “staying in place”! The newest baby boy has certainly grown and changed…But that is what they are supposed to do. Wishing A. G. much success in her new adventure. I hope it will be a fun time for her. And I do hope the Covid thing doesn’t put a damper on campus life, although I am sure that it will change things up a bit. Thank you for all the photos and stories behind them. You never disappoint with your blog. Always entertaining and enlightening. Keep on posting, girlie! You dun gud! <3
I appreciate the encouragement so much! Thank you!
