Wanna get away?? We sure did! It was time for a break from the hustle and the bustle of every day life.
Packing the car was easy. We loaded up our stuff, the fam, the pups and headed north! “Up North” is what they call it around here!
Expectations here are pretty simple. Rest, Read and Relax, and that’s exactly what we did.
We had plenty of card games going! Sweet Pea even learned how to play solitaire last weekend- now she’s hooked! (Did I mention that we don’t have internet Up North?)
See what I mean…..even the dogs rest and relax.
Just look at that face, will ya?
Sweet Pea wandered around the yard and found these beautiful wild flowers. When you don’t have a vase, a tall glass will do just fine! It’s amazing what you can find to do when your phone isn’t available!!
To make things REALLY exciting for the dogs, we took them to a dog park where they met this BIG girl. Her name is Hannah and she’s a 5 year old great dane! Thankfully, she was a gentle giant. A little booty sniffing and they declared themselves friends.
Hannah didn’t know what to think about little Minnie. I think she thought Min was a rabbit! All three of them sniffed around the 10 acre dog park and enjoyed each other. Hannah galloped just like a horse!
Sunday morning found us at our favorite little cafe. ( You see, Mama doesn’t cook up north)
If you want a delicious, filling, reasonably priced, artery clogging meal, this is the place to go!
You can see that we enjoyed the garden omelet, taco omelet, pancakes, strawberry french toast and MY favorite- The Stacker– hash browns covered in sausage gravy and topped with 2 eggs sunny side up! AND it’s served with sour dough toast too! Yes, I took most of it home!!
I’m so thankful that we have a beautiful place to get away from the pressure and busyness of every day life to enjoy and relax. This is the view from our deck. This golf course was played by my guys numerous times last weekend too!
Try not to trip over the dog on the way out!

What a wonderful way to relax. I am proud of everyone in that they have no internet. Cold turkey! Wow! Loved getting to see Hannah. She is really big. Your breakfasts look so good. Yum! It is a wonderful place to rest and relax. Of course, the boys were getting a lot of exercise while on the golf course. Maybe! The ladies are sure to get some power shopping done, too, I am sure. Good photos and blog!
