Flowers were the theme last weekend! Hubby was ready to head out and get some flowers to add that POP of color to our patio and porch. Did you notice that I said “hubby?” Yeah, over the past few years, I just haven’t been that excited about digging in the dirt, planting flowers and more importantly watering the flowers. My idea was to purchase a pre-made pot of flowers and a hanging plant and call it done. As for the patio in back, I again, wanted to buy a pre-made basket and just hang it on the shepherd’s hook. Simple is my name and Done is my game. Well, he had other ideas…. We ended up with my suggestions and MORE!! But really, how could he help himself, the colors were AMAZING!! We filled our cart full and decided to come back later to buy vegetable plants for the garden.
With all of the beautiful weather we’ve been having, my dog has decided to shed like a banshee. Don’t get me wrong, I love her to death, but this shedding thing is annoying! I brought out the big gun….my Furminator. You can read more about it HERE. Bella LOVES to be furminated. She will sit and wait for you to run it down her back- it must itch those places that she can’t reach! When we were done, it looked like we had a new guinea pig in the driveway! The hair just kept rolling around. Too bad most of it ended up in our garage- OOOOPS!
Now really, look at all of the undercoat hairs!!! It’s so exciting because these hairs would have been on the floor in the house, but instead they are outside! Hooray!!
In other exciting news, Sweet Pea earned the highly sought after “GAME BALL” at her softball game this week. I felt like we deserved some kind of prize for sitting out in the freezing cold, rain and wind on Monday! I was not a happy camper, but getting that glow in the dark ball just made it all worth it!
Oh, and by the way….check out her nails in the picture above. This is what they look like close up! It is magnetic nail polish and she used a magnet to make those designs! How cool is that!
Here are some pictures to make you smile…(no, the cats aren’t ours- but they’re snuggling, so cute!)
We only had 1 little mishap this week.
THE TREE
This was a beautiful tree, but something happened and hubby decided to just trim off the dead stuff. Imagine my surprise when I pulled into the driveway and found this!! Um….yeah….this tree will be cut to the ground this weekend!! Can you say pitiful??

I can recall, as your Mom, that you never did enjoy “digging in the dirt”! Glad you enjoy the beauty of your flowers now, even if your “hubs” has to do the labor part.
The dog did have a heavy undercoat, indeed. It was a long, cold winter.
Congrats to the “girly” for winning the game ball. She is a good pitcher, for sure…And the nails are beautiful, dah-ling. I love a girl that loves softball AND pretty nails!
Oh, and the tree…….We will all continue to remember how, when it bloomed, it was beautiful. =)
It was Annie’s tree…maybe when we take out the stump we’ll bury her doggie cremains there! Morbid, but fitting!!
Is your “hubby” for hire? I don’t like digging in the dirt either, but love the beautiful flowers!
Yes, Susie, YES!!!
Love the furminator! I think we have the hairiest yellow lab on the planet – I’ve pretty much given up. She loves getting brushed too!
