When you look at this glass, do you see it half empty or half full?? Unfortunately, I’m one of those people who sees the glass half empty. I suppose you could call me an idealist or a perfectionist, but I assume everything is going to flow easily and without strife in my life. Guess what?! I’m usually disappointed when things don’t go perfectly or “my way.” Thus, the negative attitude about that darn glass being half empty.
One of my goals for the year is to be more positive and take a different perspective on life. I recently ran into an article on the internet (can’t remember the site) that encouraged me to state the negative and then add the word “BUT” and then state something positive. For example, that glass that’s sitting there, it’s half empty, BUT at least I will have something to drink. See how it works??
I’m still a work in progress and there are days when negativity and yuckiness inside overflow my day, but I think by identifying the blessing in the situation is a good way to turn around my STINKIN” THINKIN”!
Love this and very true, the power of “BUT” is a great way to turn a thought or feeling around =)
