This year our Thanksgiving was SUPER SPECIAL!! Why? Because EVERYONE was there!! I do want to explain that we hosted Thanksgiving early this year because some in our family go to other places on the actual Thanksgiving day. We are always flexible when holidays roll around!
The fam arrived and it was the usual- the kids played with Gma’s toys and the adults gathered around the snacks, I mean the kitchen island, and talked stocks, sports, recipes, home repair, etc.
The main event was served at 4:00 pm that day and we ran the usual buffet of turkey, potatoes, noodles, green bean casserole, rolls, broccoli salad, and my favorite…pretzel salad! The desserts were plentiful, too. Apple pie, pumpkin cake, and pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce were demolished after dinner.
I forgot to mention that it was our son’s actual birthday that day, so we serenaded him with some harmonious happy birthday songs!
We had 2 new members of the family at the dinner. Our new puppy was there, but more importantly, our new granddaughter was there- she was recently adopted from Colombia. It was fun to watch her experience new foods and new people.
As always, if you went home hungry it was your own fault. Hahaha!!
An extra special blessing was having my parents there. My parents make homemade noodles, rolls, and jam. Mom surprised us by bringing my favorite pretzel salad- YUM!! Here they are with their 4 grandchildren (all adults now.)
I hope YOU had an amazing day!!
Oh….. and this happened after everyone left!! SO CUTE!!!
Looks like a wonderful day! Is it ‘strawberry’ pretzel salad? We have that at our family’s Thanksgiving too, but whoever makes it complains about how hard it is to get the top layer to set and not be runny. If you – or your mom – have any tips, please share:)
Hey, Julie!! I think the secret is to use pie filling instead of the jello & strawberries! I’m glad you have that yummy salad, too!!
What’s not to love about this wonderful day in your home with all of our “peeps” there on such a special occasion! Your home is beautiful, the Fall decorations were festive, and as usual, the food was especially delicious! It was a treat getting to be with everyone. It was a very special Thanksgiving as we got to meet our new Great Granddaughter and she is a beauty. We love each and everyone of the great grandkids and cherish the time we get to spend with them! And of course, we love our grandkids ever so much ad their spouses. You and your husband are very special people in so many ways! We are blessed to call you “our kids”! May God continue to bless our sweet family!!! We love you all!
And we love our new Grand pup. She is so sweet…And Honey is such a good big sister….So glad you have dogs for us to love on!
Looks like a great day of making memories! Many blessings for sure. Wonderful!
I hope you’re enjoying your kiddoes being in town, Leigh!!
Looks like the perfect day!
It’s so great to be together!
