Hello! Welcome back to Jill on the Hill! Today is another installment on Simplifying your life! I’ve recently been on a journey to “be in charge of less stuff” or Simplifying as you might say. Today I am showing you our Master Bedroom. When we moved a few months ago, we decided to keep all of our old furniture and just move it to the new house which was fine by me!
Here’s a shot of our bedroom from the door. Here are some ideas that I used to simplify.
1. Give your bedroom a “Make-under.” Remove things from your bedroom that don’t belong there! We once had an ironing board that lived in our bedroom full time! That wasn’t exactly the most beautiful decor to look at while falling asleep. Try to keep things like laundry baskets of clean clothes in your closet or in the laundry room (HIDE THEM) until you put them away- the master bedroom should be a peaceful and relaxing place to be.
2. Limit the amount of things on horizontal spaces. APPARENTLY, I like the number three. A lamp, clock and picture frame are on one side and the other has the same- lamp, clock and the tv remote. Can I tell you how easy things are to dust when you just have to move just a few things?? MUCH EASIER! Nightstands are a great place to stash anything that you might need- books, reading glasses, chap stick, flashlight, tissues, etc.
3. Hide technology. We love to watch the news in bed at night, but the tv doesn’t have to be the center of attention. When we get up in the morning, we just close the doors on that cabinet and POOF, it’s gone.
4. Decorate with LARGE items – they fill up space and you don’t need many decorations.
Here’s another view from the other side of the room. Sorry if the comforter looks a little wrinkly or as if it has puppies in it. I can’t imagine why?!!!
Ummmmm…….yeah.
Check back next week for a delicious quick and easy soup recipe!! See ya then!!

Beautiful bedroom. You have decorated quite nicely and I do love the simplicity. P. S. And I love the “doggie” decorations on the bed.
We also watch tv at night, I have mine hidden too. Also hidden in the living room.
