Hello, and welcome back!! I haven’t done an organizing post for awhile, so I thought I would jump in and tackle the laundry room…JUST FOR YOU!! I really didn’t want to, and I had to force myself to do it, but it MAJORLY needed it!
I totally feel this way about cleaning my laundry room!
Well, here it is in all of it’s messy, disorganized glory! This is the ONLY change I would have made when we were building this house- making the laundry room wider!! I DO love that we have a place to hang dry clothing, an extra sink and plenty of storage!! As with any space that’s empty, I tend to fill it up with STUFF! =) Especially the flat surfaces!! Am I the only one??
And….here’s a close up of those flat surfaces. See the sink, lots of goodies can hide in there! The counter on the other side of washer and dryer is full too!
I started on the hanging items and just put them in my closet. It was something easy to do that made the space look better quickly!
Then I came to the cabinet of catch all stuff. Oh, it was all laundry related, but there was just too much stuff!
Do YOU ever try out a new laundry product and discover you don’t like it but can’t throw it away?? YEAH…I do that sometimes. I will throw it back in the cabinet. Case in point…👇👇👇
The hardest part? Sitting down on the floor to clear it out!! Good thing I have a lot of practice sitting on the floor from playing with the grandbabies!!!
Here was everything in that lower cabinet!
Next step, I cleaned the space using an all purpose cleaner!
I touched every single product that was in there, and got rid of what I wasn’t using!!
I like to corral my products into bins so they don’t escape and cause a mess again!!
Well there you have it! A simplified laundry room! I just have what I need sitting out- laundry detergent, coin jar, stain remover & fabric softener, a trash can and a doggie treat jar to bribe them to come into the house!!
I would really like to make this room more decorative and pleasing to the eye, but for now, it works for me!!
What room do YOU need to simplify? Tell me in the comments!
