I love my smart phone but I certainly don’t want my screen filled with apps that I don’t use! Here is a list of apps that I’m HAPPY to have on my screen!
#1
Accuweather is the app that I use the most when I’m sitting at a softball game and clouds are overhead and I want to see if any storms are coming. This app saved me from a torrential downpour just last week. I could see that a yellow and orange storm cell was headed our way in about 10 minutes, so I packed up my chair and moved under the concession stand shelter. AWESOME!!
#2 Calls Blacklist
Did you ever give someone your phone number that you wish you hadn’t?? When you load a phone number onto the list, those numbers are quietly blocked as they arrive. Calls are saved and documented in a journal so you won’t lose track of the call or message, just in case.
#3 Cozi
Cozi is an app where you can share calendars, to do lists or shopping lists. I use the calendar option and it will send a weekly email to my family to let them know what’s going on in the week.
#4 Instasize
I almost always use Instasize to post pictures to Instagram. Sometimes I don’t want to crop my picture and Instasize allows you to post the whole picture to Instagram. Love it!
#5 Life 360
This app is fairly new to me, but was recommended by a police officer at a recent social media workshop. This app can be downloaded on any smart phone that is GPS enabled. Using this app, I can know the location of my kids at nearly every moment. Creepy, huh?? I also can tell if they turn off their phone, which causes the app to read “Cannot update location.” Instead of being THAT CREEPER MOM, I have also used this app to locate one of my kids lost phones-yes, I was the hero!! This app is handy when your kids play high school sports. For instance, my son plays golf and often goes to “away” golf meets where it’s NOT COOL for parents to come and watch. By using this app, I can tell when he is on the road, headed back to the high school, so I know when to pick him up!! My kids can also tell where I am. My husband uses Life 360 to see if I’m home before he actually makes the call home. I’ve only scratched the tip of the iceberg using this app. There is so much more to learn!!
#6 My Fitness Pal
Most people are familiar with this app. I find it most useful to track daily calories! I’m aware that you can “follow” other users to get food inspiration too!
#7 P Tracker
P-Tracker. Well, this is very handy if you are a woman. It keeps track of your monthly stuff (ahem). It has a notes section, which can be a helpful way to keep track of details. I know, TMI, right??
#8 Shazam
I frequently hear a song on the radio and I don’t remember the artist’s name OR sometimes I can’t even come up with the title of the song! IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!! This app “listens”to the music, identifies the song, and displays all of the information, including scrolling the lyrics so you can sing along! How awesome is that??!!
I KNOW you have favorite apps that I don’t know about, please share them in the comments! I’m especially looking for an app for a “to do” list! I’ve tried a few and haven’t found one that I LOVE! Thanks!!
These are so cool. I especially like the last one (music). It drives me nuts when I can’t think of the name or artist!
