Well, HELLO!! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here and I thought I would catch you up to speed on what’s been going on around here!
Last December, our daughter graduated from college and moved back home with us to wait for graduate school to start. She works full-time at a local coffee shop, just storing up cash to make sure she gets out of grad school debt free!
Along with having her home (which we love), she brought her cat home to live with us, too. (Our grand kitty) Millie, is a cat/dog. She is like a dog in many ways, she comes running when someone walks in the door, she is so cuddly, and is a real “people cat.” She needs to be involved in whatever is going on in the house. You might ask ” You have 2 dogs, how do they get along?” I would tell you that it was pretty awkward for the first week having them together. Our younger dog, Piper has learned to respect “the paw” when it is held up. They play together now and chase each other around the house!
Speaking of grand pets, this little cutie stayed with us for a few days. This is Sunshine, our grandbunny! When she is at home, she has free run of the house, and is litter trained! I had no idea that bunnies could roam the house- supervised, of course! I love this picture of her at our house (in the playpen area) She has the best Mohawk!!
Sunshine’s Dad is a nurse and of course, we are celebrating him this week as Nurse Appreciation Week! It’s also Mental Health Awareness Month and he is a psyche nurse, so double hats off to him this month!! I LOVE his shirt!
In sticking with the pet theme that I have going on, these 2 rascals always are on the lookout for intruders on their territory!
They’re not particularly good hunting dogs though!! Hahaha!
One of the most EXCITING things was that I won the Family NCAA Tournament!! (and I didn’t watch a single game!)
This trophy proudly sits on my desk! I think the fam was pretty fussy about it!! =)
We’ve celebrated birthdays…
This cutie turned “3” not too long ago…
This big guy turned “6”! We happened to be on a trip to Florida so we celebrated there!! He just recently lost both front teeth!!
His brother turned 4 in March!
But the real “BIRTH” DAY came a few months ago in January when this little miss was born!
We’re getting ready for another Grandbaby “BIRTH” Day here in just a week or so!! If you’ve lost count, this is Grandbaby #7!!
These two and I added a year, too! Yay, for February Birthdays!!
We’ve been prepping our Lake House for Summer Fun!!
Our boys put the dock in. (Thank you, guys!)
The boat has been delivered and she’s ready to go!
We also have been preparing our garden over there for the tomato plants that my parents have started!
It’s been warm enough that we had our first dinner on the patio a few weeks ago! It got me so excited for Summer to eat out here most nights!!
As any normal family, life has had some good times AND some NOT so good times the last few months, but through it all…
LIFE IS GOOD and we are blessed beyond measure!
Well, that’s it!! I hope you all have an amazing weekend!! XOXO
I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites!

Lake life and grandparenting are things we have in common. We live full time on our lake and love it. And I’m also a big fan of dining al fresco too. We do that as often as we can here. Have a happy Mother’s Day!
I guess we could be BFFs!! Happy Mother’s Day to you, too!
Thank you for the nice comment, Joyce! “Dining al fresco!” That’s a phrase I’ve never heard, but I LOVE IT!!
Love the mental health shirt! And your dinner on the patio view is beautiful!
Thank you, Mandy!!
I enjoyed so many things about this blog. You covered so many different things and told your story beautifully! I love the pic of the “hunting dogs” with turkeys galore in the yard…And they are napping! Each photo is precious to me and you included so may of the people that I love. Nice job, Jillie! Love, Mom!
