Here’s a recipe to try…..Homemade Granola. It’s so easy to make, but I’ll warn ya, it does take some babysitting!! But it’s totally worth it! Again, I have wonderful friends that share their yummy recipes and thanks to Sara, this is a favorite at my house! Here are the ingredients…..
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups wheat germ
3/4 cup coconut
1 heaping cup of walnuts or pecans, chopped
1 pound 5 oz. of regular oatmeal
Mix all ingredients together and add:
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
Pour onto a greased, sided cookie sheet or 2 (9×13’s)
and put into the oven for 1 hour….Make sure you set the timer every 15 minutes so you can stir the granola...and watch toward the end because it can get too brown if you’re not careful!! Cool and store in an airtight container…..it freezes well too!
We LOVE to eat the granola on top of yogurt or ice cream!! Enjoy!!
This is really good. One of your Dad’s favorite snacks…..and cereal…And I like it, too…, if he shares! =)
