People, I have a new best friend! This friend works so hard for me and makes my life SO much easier! Who wouldn’t love a best friend like that??? Did you guess it? It’s my CROCK POT!
I recently was surfing my way through Pinterest and found this recipe. If you aren’t a fan of mushrooms, I’m not sure if this recipe would work for you, but I LOVE it! Sweet Pea says she likes it too, but she picks out the mushrooms!
Here are the Ingredients..(printable recipe below)
First, get out your crock pot, spray it with cooking spray (or use a disposable liner) and pour in the mushrooms. I set the temperature on LOW.
Add your chicken breasts on top of the mushrooms.
Melt your butter, add dry Italian seasoning, stir in soup, broth and cream cheese. It will look like this… I used a whisk to break up the cream cheese.
Pour mixture into the crock pot over the chicken breasts.
That’s it!! Now go about your business and come back in about 5 hours.
I made up some minute rice and served the chicken over the rice- it was delicious!
A perfect Fall side dish to accompany this recipe is acorn squash. Hope you give this simple meal a try!!
Now, as promised, here is the printable recipe!!
- 4 chicken breasts
- 8 oz. fresh Baby Bella sliced mushrooms
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 pkg. dry Italian salad dressing
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- Rice or Pasta
- Spray Crock Pot with cooking spray. Add mushrooms to bottom of Crock Pot, then add the chicken breasts. In a medium sized bowl, melt butter, add dry Italian seasoning, cream of mushroom soup, broth and cream cheese. Mix until well incorporated. Pour mixture over chicken breasts in Crock Pot. Cook on LOW for 5 hours.
Looks and sounds delicious….I have most all of the ingredients, but need to get the dry Italian salad dressing mix. Will out that on my list. (And by the way……my best friend is the heating pad…..=) (Back problems, you know!)
Looks so yummy but we don’t like mushrooms. Think I could leave out the mushrooms and substitute cream of chicken soup? I LOVE crock pot meals!
Julie- I think your ideas were great for substitutions! The juice, chicken and soppy rice are the best part!
