Welcome to Christmas Morning 2025!! Come on in and help yourself to some Holiday Morning French Toast or maybe you’re in the mood for a little Green & Gold Kingle!! Well, we were hoping for a white Christmas, and it seemed very promising until the week before and temps were in the 40s and almost 50, so our foot of snow quickly melted!
At 9:00 a.m., we started the process of Opening Gifts!! We had a little smaller group on Christmas because one of the families had sickies. They didn’t want to share germs!! =)
We never starve on Christmas Day. Everyone chips in and makes something (or 2) for the buffet of food. This year we featured ham, swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, noodles, green beans, brussels sprouts, and strawberry pretzel salad. YUM!! Dessert was pistachio cake, cinnamon rolls, Christmas Crack, and a tray full of cookies.
THE FOOD
The family that didn’t get to join us at Christmas was able to make it to our lakehouse the day before our New Year’s celebration, so we could celebrate Christmas with them and open those presents!!
Right after dinner, someone got tired.
Happy “NOON Year!”
Our family typically celebrates New Year’s Eve together, too, except that we call it Noon Year’s Eve. Because the kids are little, we celebrate New Year’s at Noon. From 8 am until noon, every hour on the hour, there is an activity for the kids to complete. This year included making crowns, musical chairs, cup stacking, hide-and-seek with the grown-ups, and making homemade pizza. It was so fun!! At Noon, they let loose and celebrated by blowing little noise makers, and jumped and ran all around the house. Hehehe!!! I forgot to mention that another one of the families couldn’t make it because they were sick, too. Boo!!
Dinner that night included appetizers and some venison. Too bad I didn’t snap a picture BEFORE we ate. Here’s what was left!!
I’m happy to report that we survived New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!!
We wish you a HAPPY and HEALTHY 2026!!!
