This year, unlike last year, we celebrated Christmas on the actual Christmas day!! You can read more about last years fiasco HERE.
Christmas Eve, our tradition is to go OUT for dinner since there will be so much cooking the next day. It was a smallish group, but we headed to a great Chinese buffet to get our bellies full!
Back at home, we watched “A Christmas Story” movie as we waited for the rest of the family to arrive. Our daughter was sick, so she cuddled with Honey to feel better!
The gang arrived and we were all in bed by midnight! ZZZZZZzzzz
The morning festivities started around 9 am, giving people time to sleep or shower if they wanted to! In years past, we had gift opening at 7 am, so this was a casual morning!! We had our traditional Apple Craisin French Toast for breakfast and then headed to the living room for gift opening time!
Yes, I call this a Beautiful Mess!!
Some didn’t really care about opening gifts…
There was a baby to be held! Grandpa was first in line!!
After gift opening, we kicked it into gear and started cooking!! There were 10 pounds of potatoes to peel!!
Ready, Set, GO!! Notice who the supervisor was!! =)
The ham was doctored up and set to go in the roaster!
Let’s not forget a picture of the homemade roll and noodle maker!!
Aren’t these just the cutest pjs?? The kids surprised us by wearing them Christmas morning!! Here’s a pic of our 3 sons….and a little guy!! (his Daddy is on the left)
Yes, it’s true. The dog was overwhelmed and tired and needed an escape, and this was the best option! Ha!!
The FEAST!! Even the dogs got a few schnibbles!!
The sign of a good meal…..a FULL dishwasher!!
I would say that the rest of the afternoon could be summed up this way….
We finished the night with dessert or leftovers!! It was a GREAT CHRISTMAS!!!
Here’s the whole gang!!!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas!!
Love seeing your growing family & love those pj’s! 🙂 Happy New Year to all the Petersons! We got to enjoy Kim & Kingston (2-1/2 years old now) with us (from Seattle) for 13 days – they just flew back home tonight – so sad & miss them so much. Our son-in-law had to work so couldn’t come with – he started a new job with Comcast in August & doesn’t have seniority for vacation at Christmas time – hopefully next year.
As usual, it was a fantastic day. Your home is beautiful and perfect for a gathering of family. So cute seeing the matching pajamas. Brilliant….All of the photos were wonderful. You do such a nice job “catching” the moment”!. We are all so blessed to have this marvelous family and to be able to enjoy a day filled with love and so much fun. Loved the food pics. Wow! Impressive. I would say that we are all so blessed in so many ways. Thanks for the memories and for so many other things that you you so graciously share. We love you all!
