Hello, Friends!!
I decided to share a Day in the Life post because I just love reading other people’s posts like this! I must say that this is not my typical day because on this day, my hubby was hosting a golf trip at our lakehouse and I was back at our main house. Because I’m an introvert, this was a win-win for both of us! He got to enjoy golfing with buddies for 3 days, and I enjoyed hanging with the doggies and doing whatever I wanted!!
Here we GO!
Remember when you were a kid and you were hoping it would be a snow day the next day so you could “sleep in” but you were so excited the next morning that it was a snow day that you couldn’t go back to sleep? Well, I think that is what happened on this day.
The time was 5:08 am and I was wide awake.
I hopped out of bed, let the doggies out, fed them, and let them out again- that’s how we roll! When I let them out I noticed that the birds were really singing! I have so much fun with this app called Merlin, that I turned the sound ID on, just to see what birds I was hearing! Here’s what I heard.
I worked on computer stuff for a few hours and then it was such a gorgeous day that I took my BFFs for a walk in our subdivision. It wasn’t a big fitness walk, but I got out there and moved my body. Apparently, there were some good smells on the walk because we stopped at nearly every mailbox stand to check pee-mail (it’s like email for dogs =) ) I DID have to use my poop bag on this walk.
On this day, our big dog, Honey, had a vet appointment. It was just a check-up and some bloodwork. The next day we learned that she had elevated liver enzymes and high cholesterol.🙄 OOOPS- too many table scraps, I guess.
For some reason, our dogs always LOVE going to the vet. Maybe because they have good treats? Or maybe because they have the rooms set up according to feng shui, or play classical music? I’m not sure, but I love that they don’t get all worked up!
I loved that my hubby sent pics like this to let me know what they were doing and the fun they were having. They golfed at Erin Hills that day. He said it was a beautiful course!!
After the vet I picked up a burger at Culvers and headed home. I tried NOT to cook those days as much as possible to make it a vacation for me, too! After lunch we had a little rest because that’s what you can do when you’re on vacation (Wink.) I know that my furry friends slept, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t because I was watching Netflix!!
My friend and I went out for dinner. I caught her off guard when I took the picture. She said, “MY MOUTH WAS FULL, SO I COULDN’T SMILE!”
Hahaha!! Just look at her pasta- YUM!!!! It was an Italian restaurant.
After dinner, it was such a nice night that I sat out on our driveway with the doggies to just chill. Yes, I had my favorite shirt on… “Murder Shows and Comfy Clothes!!
Honey decided to hunt down some chipmunks. They always hide in our downspouts. At least it gave her something to do!!
I walked around the front of the house and saw these in bloom! They are GORGEOUS!!
Hubby sent a picture from the Brewer Game! They had a blast! I’m not sure if they went to the game that night or the next. Oh, well, you get the drift- they had FUN!!
A few hours after that, I let the doggies out for one last time and put them to bed. I went to my room to snuggle in for the night. Here’s a picture of my set up when my hubby is gone. Does anyone else do this?? I feel like he’s in the bed with me, and the bed is so easy to make in the morning!!! I know, I know, I’m CrAzY!!!
Before I turned out the lights, I snapped a picture of the clock- yes, I’m old school and still use a clock radio!! I watched my favorite weatherman (Mark Baden) to see what to expect the next day and then knocked out!!
Well, friends, that was a day in my life!! Thanks for taking the time to read the post! I hope you’re having the best day!!
See you next week!
u really caught me off guard11
Hahaha!! I enjoyed our dinner so much!!
I loved reading your blog…and your sense of humor. So many nice photos and so many fun stories to go with each photo. I am glad you got to enjoy some time to yourself…and with Ms. Honey and Ms. Piper. They are good company, for sure. Nice picture if Ms. P., and I understand totally about having the mouthful. Hard to smile that way! The purple flowers are perennials called purple salvia. We have some, also, and everyone asks what they are called. Beautiful this time of year and the bees love them. Thanks for taking the time to share one of your “vacation” days… and each of your lovely photos! You made a very enjoyable blog and so glad you shared!!! Love you more!!!!
Love love love!!! Glad you enjoyed your stay-cay! 💗
Karrie!! That’s a perfect name for it- Stay-cay!
