What We’re Reading- July 2018

It’s SUMMERTIME, and the livin’ is EASY…. did you read that or sing that??  Ha!  Yes, Summer is in full swing and it means that I have more time to read!!  There’s only the three of us home right now- my hubby, daughter and I, so I’m showing you what we’ve been reading!!

Let’s start with what I am reading..  THIS IS ME by Chrissy Metz.   If you’re a big This is Us fan, then you’ll know who she is!!  I’m about 100 pages in and I’m already cross-eyed from all of the trauma and heartache this girl has gone through.  I am a real lover of biographies, so I’m finding this one fascinating!!

Hubby is reading… EVERYBODY ALWAYS by Bob Goff.  He liked the book so much that he is re-reading it and still learning new things!  Some mornings he will leave the book on my desk and ask me to read a certain chapter so we can talk about it- very cool!!  Here’s what the book is about…

“Driven by Bob’s trademark storytelling, Everybody, Always reveals the lessons Bob learned–often the hard way–about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction. From finding the right friends to discovering the upside of failure, Everybody, Always points the way to embodying love by doing the unexpected, the intimidating, the seemingly impossible. Whether losing his shoes while skydiving solo or befriending a Ugandan witch doctor, Bob steps into life with a no-limits embrace of others that is as infectious as it is extraordinarily ordinary. Everybody, Always reveals how we can do the same.”

Our daughter is reading...FREAKONOMICS: A rogue economist explores the hidden side of everything.

Now, don’t think my daughter is some super deep thinker and inquisitive about which is more dangerous, a gun or a swimming pool?  Or wants to know the inner workings of gangs, or the truth about real estate agents.  She is reading this one for school.  She’s taking an AP Language class and has to read 2 books this Summer, and this is one of them!  She’s not complaining about the content of the book, but she is frustrated by the fact that she has to annotate while she reads.  Let’s just say that she’s glad that she started her reading EARLY.  The other book she will be reading this Summer is FAST FOOD NATION.  Seems like a fun read to me!!

Well, that’s it!  I’m dying to know if you’ve read any good books this Summer!! PLEASE SHARE IN THE COMMENTS !
