How We: Plan our Summer Vacations

Hi, and Happy Wednesday!!! Ok, I lied….last week I told you that I was sharing what I’ve been PRIMING, but I changed my mind!!! Sorry about that!! It’s time again to link up with Shay & Erika to share something from our life!!  This month we’re sharing HOW WE PLAN OUR SUMMER VACATIONS!!  I’m excited to read how everyone else plans because our planning is really simple!!

In 1999 we joined together with 2 other couples to build a home on a beautiful golf course a few hours north of our home.  The house is away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, so it’s refreshing for hubby to relax and GOLF!!  Over the years, one of the couples loved the area so much that they bought a condo of their own and plan to retire there. So, we split up the weekends in the Summer with our friends and we share our time there all year long!!

Here are some fun things that we like to do there:

Golf, of course!!  I don’t golf, but I will ride along if you buy me a Butterfinger candy bar 😉

The area where we stay has a clubhouse and pool so we’ve spent many, many hours there!!

Here’s a RECENT picture of our 4 kiddos at the pool. They are 16, 19, 23 and 26.

The next bunch of pics will be pics from the past!!

The beautiful lake is 1/2 mile away!! We have tried fishing, pontooning and hope to do some kayaking this Summer!!

We love our state!!

The area has just the BEST dog park!!  Fun for the dogs AND fun to talk with the people there!!

We eat dinner on the deck… big kitchen mess- Hallelujah!!

Everything tastes better when I don’t have to make it!! Especially when we have the best Griller-Man!!

YEARS ago she loved finding wildflowers in the yard and presenting them to me!!  So sweet!!

Others liked to go on a lost “golf ball hunt” in the woods on either side of the house.

A blast from the past at the pool!!  I’m guessing our oldest son was in line for ice cream in this picture!

I know my teenage daughter is probably dying having me show you her Hannah Montana swim suit!!!

We’ve had plenty of card games and board games played around this table!!

Looks like the next generation has started coming up to the cottage already!!

Here are some other places that we have ventured on vacation throughout our marriage…

Santa Barbara, California

Banff, Canada

Branson, Missouri

Alaskan Cruise

Seattle, Washington

Sedona, Arizona

Kiawah Island, South Carolina part 1, 2, 3
